When asked for her thoughts on returning to campus, Celia Lechuga replied, “I really wouldn’t want to put my family at risk, but if the school takes the necessary precautions, that would make me feel safer.”

Like many students, the thought of returning to North is worrisome. However, she misses the daily interactions with others, and wishes to finish her high school experience with a sense of normalcy.

Celia is among the lucky few whose family has not yet been severely affected by the pandemic. Nonetheless, she is aware of the severity of the situation and believes more people should wear masks and social distance.

Mental health is a common struggle between teenagers, especially during so many months of isolation. Celia suggests not completely distancing yourself from others by keeping in touch with friends, whether that’s over a call or a simple text.
